"la Caixa" Foundation joins the celebration of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats

• The “la Caixa” Foundation has signed a collaboration agreement with the Dénia Ciudad Creativa Foundation for the development of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats, which will be held from October 27 to 29.

Dénia, October 17, 2022. The corporate director of Territory and Centers of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Rafael Chueca, and the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, as president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation, have signed a collaboration agreement between both entities for the development of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats, which will be held in the capital of the Marina Alta from October 27 to 29, 2022.

Through this agreement, the “la Caixa” Foundation will carry out a contribution of 50,000 euros, which will serve to contribute to the organization and launch of the first edition of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats and the various cultural and social activities that will take place in the city of Dénia during the week Festival celebration.

This collaboration is part of the development of social programs, promoting research and knowledge, cultural and educational with a transforming vocation carried out by the “la Caixa” Foundation as part of its objectives foundational.

For its part, the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation has as its main purposes the dissemination, promotion and encouragement of cultural and social activities, including the celebration of the Dénia Festival de les Humanities.

Given the relevance and quality of the speakers who have confirmed their attendance at this event, the city of Dénia, and by extension the Valencian Community, are called to become a European benchmark in the field of humanities. Something that will mean an important boost to the social, cultural and economic activity of Dénia; Likewise, it will allow civil society to participate in an open forum for training and debate with top-level experts in the field of humanistic thought.

This agreement with the “La Caixa” Foundation is added to those already signed with other business and cultural entities such as ÉTNOR, the Rafael Chirbes Foundation, the Cultural Association of the Marina Alta MACMA, the Institute of Comarcales de la Marina Alta (IECMA), the Musical Artistic Group of Dénia, La Marina Lindy Hop and the Tenor Cortis Conservatory of Dénia; in addition to all the universities of the Valencian Community.

Dénia Festival de les Humanitats

Dénia Festival de les Humanitats is an initiative of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Dénia City Council, Baleària and the Fundación Dénia Ciutat Creativa, directed by Josep Ramoneda and Jordi Alberich, and coordinated by La Maleta de Portbou. Among its founding objectives, the following stand out: the aim of becoming an annual event for reflection and dialogue on the human condition.
