- Vicente Grimalt and Salvador Navarro, the president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation of the Valencian Community and the president of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), respectively, have put in writing the commitment of both entities to collaborate in the celebration of the “Dénial Festival de les Humanitats”.
The agreement between the two commits them to cooperate during the days in which the festival of thought and debate is held (from Thursday, October 27 to Saturday, October 29), and the CEV also commits to disseminating among its members the catalog of conferences of the event, especially those of the block dedicated to reflection on the new economic dynamics (Lluís Vives space on Friday, October 28 in the Androna Baleària Port room from 6:30 p.m.).
Grimalt has highlighted the importance of involving the business world in projects of a cultural nature "in these times", alluding to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Quoting Adolfo Utor, president of the Baleària shipping company, he stated that "the business world must understand that the Humanities are vital to promote its development". In order to explore this synergy, the conferences in the Lluís Vives space on the 28th will deal with what the mayor has defined as "a marriage [between the Humanities and business] to avoid the self-destruction of humanity".
For his part, Navarro thanked the members of the Municipal Corporation for their assistance, while outlining the work that remains to be done in order to "streamline and improve the administration", for this, the president of the CEV advocates a twinning between the public administration and the business sector. The Valencian businessman has defined the company as "a fundamental part of civil society" that fights for inclusion and integration. Defined these lines of work, Navarro has commented on his intention to visit Dianense town hall on more occasions.
