Signing of the collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Education for the celebration of the Dénia Humanities Festival

The mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, as president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation of the Valencian Community, and the regional secretary of Education and Vocational Training of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport, Miguel Soler, have today signed a collaboration agreement for the celebration of the Festival of Humanities that is organized in Dénia next October.

The Fundació Dénia Ciutat Creativa de la Gastronomia has as its main purposes the dissemination, promotion and encouragement of cultural and social activities, and for this, among its objectives is the celebration of the cultural and social event "Dénia Festival de les Humanitats" , which will take place on October 27, 28 and 29, 2022. The relevance and quality of the speakers who have confirmed their attendance will mean that the city of Dénia, and the Valencian Community, become a world reference in the field of the humanities.

The festival will be an important boost to social, cultural and economic activity in the city of Dénia during the month of October, that is, it will also contribute to the seasonal adjustment of the economic activity of the municipality; likewise, it will allow civil society, both those who are in their educational stage (students at institutes, universities, etc.), and in their case in the professional one (philosophers, writers, teachers, etc.), and those who is integrated or promoted through associative activity (members of the IECMA, MACMA, etc.), they can participate in an open forum for training and debate with leading experts in the field of humanistic thought, among other issues, regarding the future evolution of humanity.

Under the agreement signed today, the Ministry, through the Center for Training, Innovation and Resources for teachers (CEFIRE), and the Dénia Ciutat Creativa de la Gastronomia Foundation will be able to collaborate in activities such as holding meetings, conferences and congresses intended for the exchange of information between specialists; recognition of the training received by participating teachers; collaboration in research activities; the preparation and execution of activities aimed at the dissemination, promotion and encouragement of cultural and social activities related to the aims of the Foundation and the Conselleria and the dissemination of the activities of both institutions, both within both and directed to the public usually. The duration of the collaboration agreement will be two years, extendable for periods of equal duration.

The regional secretary for Education has highlighted that the Department supports initiatives such as the Festival de les Humanitats, among other reasons "because they promote training in values ​​and knowledge of our roots and our history."

The mayor of Dénia, for his part, trusts that the event will be "a project for many years, since it is very interesting for Dénia". Grimalt has advanced that "Dénia Festival de les Humanitats" will include academic and cultural activities and that it is planned to present the complete program at the beginning of August.
