Víctor Gómez Pin

He studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, where he earned a PhD with a thesis on Aristotelian order. He is currently an Honorary Professor of the UAB and a researcher at Paris’ École Normale Supérieure. He has been a Visiting Professor and lecturer at different foreign universities. In 2009, he was awarded the International Prize by the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. He has also received the Anagram and Espasa Essay prizes. In April 2013, he was appointed as a member of Jakiunde (Basque Academy of Science, Letters, and Art). He received an honoris causa from Universidad del País Vasco. Víctor Gómez Pin is the coordinator of the International Ontology Congress, which has been hosted biannually in San Sebastian and Barcelona for almost a quarter of a century under the patronage of UNESCO.
