Tomàs Marquès i Bonet

He is the director of the Instituto de Biología Evolutiva (CSIC/UPF) and an ICREA researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has always had an important presence in international research, participating in Marie Curie initiatives, being a Young Researcher at EMBO since 2014, and participating in prestigious European projects such as the European Research Council or NIH (United States). He is an executive member of different international consortiums related to genomics, as well as the organiser of several international symposia. With a total of more than a hundred publications in international journals, his group centres on understanding the basis of what defines us as humans from different molecular and genetic perspectives.
