Soledad Gallego-Díaz

She studied journalism at the Escuela Oficial de Madrid and has a Philosophy and Letters degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She worked for the Pyresa information agency and in Cuadernos para el Diálogo until 1978. Since 1976 she has been linked with El País, where she reported on political and parliamentary affairs until late 1979, and edited the newspaper from 2018 to 2020. She has worked as a columnist of Cadena Ser in the Hoy por hoy programme, has been vice-president of the Spanish section of Reporters Without Borders, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA). She is the author of, among other publications, Los siete magníficos and Crónica secreta de la Constitución: 40 años después, has received several awards for her professional career, such as the Salvador de Madariaga Prize, Margarita Rivière Prize for journalistic rigour, or the Ortega y Gasset Prize for her Professional Career.
