Jordi Mercader Miró

Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniero Industriales de Barcelona, and a master’s degree in Economy and Business Management from IESE. Among other posts, he has been the president of the Instituto Nacional de Industria (1988–1990), Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona, S.A. (January 2006–June 2010) and Miquel y Costas & Miquel, S.A. (November 1991–June 2023), of which he is now the Honorary President. He is currently vice-president of the Institut Cerdà, patron of La Fundación Pasqual Maragall, patron of the Fundación Princesa de Girona, member of the Fundación Círculo de Economía’s Honorary Council, president of the Fundación Gala-Salvador Dalí, and president of the Fundación Miquel y Costas & Miquel. He was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Naval Merit, the Professional Lifetime Award of the Industrial Engineers of Catalonia (2009) and the Gold Medal of the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (2010).
