Writer and philologist specialising in the cultural history of 20th-century Catalonia and Spain. In recent years hhe has published essays such as El llarg procés, La conjura dels irresponsables, or La primavera de Múnich. His latest books are the true-life novel El fill del xofer and the biography Vèncer la por. Vida de Gabriel Ferrater. He coordinates Quadern for El País, a newspaper to which he has contributed since September 2021, in both its editorials and the Babelia supplement.
