Enric Balaguer

Literature lecturer at Universidad de Alicante and writer. He has published books of essays such as Paper reciclat (1995); Contra la modernitat i altres quimeres. Nou assaigs sobre el segle xx (2002), which won the Josep Vallverdú Prize; Fulls de ruta (2002); La totalitat impossible (2006), which won the Generalitat Valenciana’s Essay Prize; La vulgaritat i altres tribulacions dels nostres dies (2010); Constel·lacions postmodernes (2015) and El desert i altres palpitacions del nou segle (2016). He is also the author of the diary La casa que vull (2009), which won the Rovira i Virgili Essay Prize and the Valencian Writer’s Critics Prize (2010), and the story book El llibreter Mendel i altres relats (2022). His studies include the following: Dinou poetes dels seixanta (1987), Poesia, alquímia i follia. Una aproximació a l’obra poètica de Josep Palau i Fabre (1995), Els colors i les paraules. Notes sobre Joan Fuster i la pintura (2007), as well as numerous articles about Joan Salvat-Papasseit, Joan Puig i Ferrater, Joan Fuster, Mercè Rodoreda, Quim Monzó, Jordi Pere Cerdà, etc. In addition, he has undertaken studies on authors and aspects of post-war and contemporary literature. He contributes to publications such as the Información newspaper and journals such as El Temps, L'Aiguadolç, Caràcters, or La Veu del País Valencià.
