Antonio Monegal
Professor of Theory of Literature and Compared Literature at Barcelona’s Pompeu Fabra, director of CER-Institut de Cultura, and coordinator of the Compared Literature Research Group. He has a PhD from Harvard University and has taught at the universities of Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, and Chicago. From 2009 to 2013, he was vice-president of the Barcelona Culture Council and president of its Executive Committee. He is the author of Luis Buñuel de la literatura al cine: Una poética del objeto and En los límites de la diferencia: Poesía e imagen en las vanguardias hispánicas, and the editor of García Lorca’s books Viaje a la luna, El público and El sueño de la vida, and coordinator of Literatura y pintura y Política y (po)ética de las imágenes de guerra. He was one of the commissioners of the exhibitions «En guerra» at CCCB in 2004 and “Sade. La libertad o el mal,” also at CCCB in 2023.
